Description

Produced by cold expression from the fruit peel of the Lemon fruit.
Cold pressing is the superior method of obtaining essential oil from citrus fruits.
It involves no heat or chemicals, only mechanical pressure.

It is important that the oil is not further refined and thus not exposed to any additional processes which could compromise its natural compounds.

The main constituents of this oil are limonene, a-pinene, linalool, b-pinene, citral, and geraniol.
The properties are invigorating, cleansing, purifying and disinfecting.

Lemon essential oil is also called ”Liquid sunshine” and it possibly has the most potent antimicrobial effects of all the essential oils.

This oil has a citrus refreshing scent and provides a burst of energy in any room where it is used. It is popular in perfumery, but also to relieve exhaustion, improve cognitive function and concentration.

USE: Add a few drops to your diffuser to enjoy its benefits and aroma. Add a few drops to a carrier oil and massage into skin to promote its soothing effects. A useful tip – diffuse in workplaces to help improve employee focus and efficiency.

CAUTION: Always dilute in a carrier oil before skin application. Avoid sensitive areas. Avoid eye contact and mucus membranes.
Avoid if you’re pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure or epilepsy. Keep out of the reach of children.

The lemon plant is native to India and both the fruit and essential oil have been used in Ayurvedic medicines for thousands of years. Also, ancient Egyptians and Romans have treated infectious diseases with their help.

The Crusaders brought it to Europe in the Middle Ages. Since the fruit has a good amount of vitamins A, B, and C, an ounce a day was given to sailors to prevent scurvy, eye problems, and other vitamin deficiencies.
It was later introduced to America by Christopher Columbus. Lemon was mainly used as an ornament and as medicine.
It was only much later that it began to be used in cooking.
